Social Enterprise Academy: Facilitating global connections

Creating fairer communities starts with supporting social entrepreneurs to build the confidence, skills, and networks they need to create change. As an Associate Facilitator with the Social Enterprise Academy, the work spans continents and contexts, always grounded in local communities.

The work

Deliver tailored programs for social entrepreneurs, organisations, and young people as part of the Social Enterprise Academy’s global team. The Academy’s goal is ambitious: facilitate 10 million social entrepreneurs worldwide. Program delivery is shaped by the needs of participants and informed by the local communities in which they live and work – ensuring relevance whether supporting remote island communities in Scotland or urban centres in Australia.

What this involves:

  • Facilitating programs that build confidence, capability, and connection among social entrepreneurs
  • Tailoring delivery to local context while maintaining the Academy’s robust methodology
  • Working across diverse settings – from remote communities to urban environments
  • Building networks that connect social entrepreneurs globally while honouring local knowledge and priorities
  • Supporting young people, established organisations, and emerging social enterprises
  • Contributing to a global movement while staying grounded in place-based realities

Why this work matters

The Academy’s methodology proves adaptable and relevant across vastly different contexts. Whether delivered in remote island communities or busy cities, the approach works because it respects local knowledge, builds on existing strengths, and creates connections that last beyond any single program. Social entrepreneurship thrives when people feel supported, connected, and equipped – and when facilitators understand that context shapes everything.
